Welcome to Year One!
It was lovely to see everyone looking so happy and keen to start the next part of their learning journey on Wednesday morning. Haven’t they all grown!
This week the children have been talking, drawing and writing about their summer holiday. What a lot of fun they have had.
In English we read the story of Mr Gumpy’s Outing by John Burningham which we are going to use as part of our learning over the next few weeks. In English ChIL we enjoyed playing different literacy based games.
In maths we have been busy counting in 1’s, 10’s 2's and even 5’s. We had great fun in maths ChIL playing number games and using the Numicon . We went outdoors for a number treasure hunt and played on the giant number grid.
On Thursday half the children from each class had a Woodland learning session. Look at our photos. The other children will have their session next week.
We hope that you have a great weekend!
