Friday 25th May

This week we have planned and written our own version of 'The Enormous Turnip'. We started by planning and writing a class version, and then we used these to 'magpie' ideas for own own stories. Here is our class story mas - ask your child to tell you the story.

We wrote about 'Big Strawberries', 'Giant Potatoes' and 'Huge Mangoes'. We made them all in to a book and we hope you enjoy looking at it during Open Evening.
When you read a book during the holiday please try and 'innovate' and change the setting, characters or problem.

This week in maths we have been learning about finding half and quarters of shapes and quantities.
We learnt to find half you have to have 2 equal parts and to find quarter you have to have 4 equal parts. We also learnt to find quarter of a number, half the number and then half it again.

We had lots of fun becoming TV chefs! We were very sensible and careful using the sharp knives and recording using the IPads. But we especially enjoyed eating our dips in the sunshine!

We have come to the end of another half term, full of learning! Next half term our topic will be 'Creepy Crawlies', and we are planning to spend lots of time out of doors, enjoying the sunshine! In the meantime we would like to say thank you for your support well done to your lovely children on the progress they have made with the learning. We hope that you all have a fun, restful and happy half term holiday.
